SON OF SAMSON
The Pitts 'SAMSON' was first designed and built by Curtis Pitts in 1948. This reproduction was built in 1985 by Steve Wolf and is shown here being flown by Bobby Younkin.
The 450 horse power Pratt and Whitney R-985 engine was fitted with a ten foot diameter prop. The tips of the blades would go super sonic creating a lot of noise, along with the ample smoke system the combination created the ultimate airshow plane.
