PITTS OVER POMPANO

A spry Pitts S1S pulls to the vertical at airshow center over Pompano Beach Airport, once the home to all things aerobatic.

The original Pitts Special was designed and built by Curtis Pitts in 1945.  The Smithsonian's Air and Space Museum says that the Pitts was "revolutionary because of its small size, light weight, short wingspan and extreme agility".

Pitts Specials continue to be manufactured with both homebuilt and certified models in both single and two seat versions available.
