United States Army RU-21A 'Ute' SN 67-18113, returning from a mission in Operation Desert Storm drops down to do a little sight seeing amongst the burning oil fields left by the retreating Iraqi Army only hours after Allied Coalition Forces liberated Kuwait. 

'PATRIOT' was one of eight aircraft of the CEFIRM LEADER system assigned to the 138th Aviation Company (EW), 201st Intelligence Battalion, 513th Military Intelligence Brigade.

Francis 'Gabby' Gabreski was the highest scoring Ace in the European theater of war during World War Two having 28 confirmed kills and three destroyed on the ground.  He later went on to shoot down 6 1/2 Migs during the Korean War while flying the F-86.  This makes him one of seven pilots to be awarded ACE in two separate wars.  

Shown here is Gabby's P-47 D 'Razorback' Thunderbolt of the 61st Fighter Squadron, 56th Fighter Group in 1944.  Gabreski was assigned five different P-47's during the war.  None of his aircraft were ever named, but all of them carried the Identification code HV A.
