BOMBER COMMANDS LONELY KNIGHTS

Lancaster Bombers of the RAF Bomber Command which controlled the strategic bombing campaign of Germany during World War Two.  While the United States adopted a daytime campaign of precision bombing, the RAF predominately would fly their missions during night time and focused on the manpower that operated enemy factories.

Bomber Command suffered a horrendous 44 percent casualty rate.  Of 125,000 crew members, almost 56,000 were killed.  This does not account for injured crew members or the almost 10,000 that became Prisoners of War.
